Peregrine Falcons 2026

Peregrine Falcon Photography Workshop – What to Expect
Get ready for an unforgettable opportunity to photograph peregrine falcons in the wild. This workshop is designed to help you capture the speed, power, and beauty of these incredible birds of prey while learning professional techniques for wildlife photography.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to track and photograph fast-moving raptors.
- Camera settings and field techniques for sharp, dramatic images.
- Composition tips and ethical practices for photographing wildlife.
- Insights into recommended gear and Ryan’s personal shooting workflow.
Three-Part Workshop Experience:
- Pre-Workshop Virtual Session (Week Before): We’ll meet online to cover basic camera settings, recommended gear, and field preparation so you’re confident and ready for the day ahead.
- Field Workshop (Main Day): Photograph peregrine falcons in their natural environment. This is a low physical demand workshop, making it accessible for all skill levels. Recommended gear includes a 500mm lens with a tripod or monopod for stability. We’ll shoot rain or shine. If it rains, you’ll have the chance to capture dramatic, moody falcon images. While our main focus is peregrine falcons, we may also encounter red-tailed hawks, osprey, or even bald eagles. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, but that unpredictability is part of the adventure.
- Post-Workshop Virtual Session (Day After): We’ll regroup online to review photos, discuss cropping and composition, and dive into post-processing editing techniques so you leave with polished images and new skills to apply to future projects.
Come prepared for an inspiring, three-part experience that combines preparation, action in the field, and creative refinement after the fact. You’ll walk away with sharper techniques, a deeper understanding of wildlife photography, and hopefully, unforgettable images of some of North America’s most iconic raptors.
